Regenerative Radio Using a 1625 Tube

Another example of Dave's electrical engineering perfection provides the guts of this 1625 regenerative radio via his Multiradio Tube Module, Lite Version schematic found on Dave's site. The attention center is that big 1625 tube with the fancy 'lightning rod' plate cap. All that lightning strike is carried below decks via an extra heavy-duty chunk of bus wire.

Both tickler and main coil are of HoneyComb construction and are mounted at the base of the tube. I used a wafer of styrene between the two for spacing. Everything is run off of a 12VDC wall wart pictured here so there are NO dangerous voltages to worry about.......unless, of course, you listen to this set outside in a thunder storm!

Antenna and ground are the only additional connections necessary and are made at the brass binding posts behind the tube. All wiring is done under the black acrylic base which also serves as the front panel for the regen pot, variable capacitor and phone jack.

The sub-base is made of Padouck and the knobs are also Padouck with Ebony skirts. Clean and elegant, no? All that class and performance for (see pricelist). What a deal.
